One of the major items in the Trail Conference mission statement is:
  • Educating the public in the responsible use of trails and the natural environment.
We have four main mechanisms for achieving this goal:
  • Publishing books and maps to show people where they can hike
  • Working with teachers to incorporate outdoor education into their curriculum
  • Outreaching to non-traditional groups to interest them in hiking and protecting the natural environment
  • Running Workshops to train our volunteers

As in everything we do, volunteers are the key to success. We always welcome volunteers to help implement these programs.
