With help from Ramsey Outdoor, the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference has received an environmental grant of $2,645 from Patagonia, Inc. to fund its trail stewardship work and leadership of the Ramapo Earth Crew. The Ramapo Earth Crew—a partnership between the Trail Conference and the Mahwah Environmental Volunteers Organization (MEVO)—is a high-energy group of trained volunteers and volunteer interns who tackle challenging trail improvement projects throughout northern New Jersey.

In addition to improving the quality of trails, the Ramapo Earth Crew is advancing the skill levels of volunteers through instruction and guidance from experienced crew members.  The Trail Conference is a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to connect people with nature through its network of more than 2,100 miles of volunteer-maintained trails. The Trail Conference engages 1,750 volunteers and donates nearly 100,000 hours of labor annually to building, maintaining, and protecting our public trails.

Ramsey Outdoor provided key contacts and oversight, which led to the successful grant application.  Patagonia donates $6.2 million annually to fund environmental work.
