Directions
To Penwell Road Parking Area From I-78 travel north for 8 miles on Route 31 to the traffic light at Route 632, and turn right. After four miles, turn right at the stop sign at the junction with Route 57. Proceed for 0.2 mile and turn right onto Penwell Road. In approximately 1/2 mile, you will cross a one-lane bridge. Park Overview
Point Mountain Reservation along the Musconetcong River offers a wide array of recreational opportunities. Point Mountain is the third highest peak in Hunterdon County.
Trail Overview
This 1100-acre park is approximately 15 miles upstream from the Musconetcong Gorge in the northwest corner of Hunterdon County. Its trails parallel the scenic Musconetcong River, traverse a mature forest, and follow mowed paths along cultivated fields. The 935-foot-high summit of Point Mountain offers sweeping views of small towns, fertile farmland, and the Musconetcong River valley.
