Starting May 7th, 2024 NYS Parks will be undertaking a multi-park project to treat spongy moth (gypsy moth) by helicopter applications of the biocontrol Btk (a naturally occurring soil bacteria) in the early morning hours on two days about a week apart. The work will be performed in the early morning (as close to daybreak as possible) and will take several hours to complete. Visitors are encouraged to delay their arrival to these Parks until the afternoon. Learn about the impact of Spongy Moths to our parks here.
