Spongy Moth Treatment at Harriman and Bear Mt State Parks

Starting May 7th, 2024 NYS Parks will be undertaking a multi-park project to treat spongy moth (gypsy moth) by helicopter applications of the biocontrol Btk (a naturally occurring soil bacteria) in the early morning hours on two days about a week apart. The work will be performed in the early morning (as close to daybreak as possible) and will take several hours to complete.
